Overview:

This iconic structure provides over 700,000 sq ft of state of the art trading space and outstanding facilities for clients and staff. Featuring 13 storeys above ground and a three floor basement, it is the new home of the global financial firm, UBS. 5 Broadgate also includes four trading floors, each capable of accommodating 750 traders and houses 6,000 UBS employees in total.

Public realm space on the ground level to the Appold Street corner elevation was developed with a large cantilever which was supported from the roof level by a 40 tonne truss girder. Severfield connected, designed and fabricated approximately 13,000 tonnes of structural steelwork, with the development based upon innovative pairs of floor beams battened together around steelwork columns.

It received 75 and 120 minute off site applied intumescent fire protection, 90,000 sq m of metal floor decking and 270 flights of staircases, all within our scope of work.
