Overview:

The Phase 2 development at ExCeL London increased the venue event space by 50% and has secured its position as London's premier international exhibition and convention centre.

The extension includes a brand new 5,000 seat convention centre, a banqueting hall with seating for 3,000 and a flexible conference suite for up to 2,500 people.

The venue also played a significant role in the London 2012 Olympics, which saw it divided into four sports halls with capacities ranging from 6,000 to 10,0000s staging at least seven Olympic and Paralympic events, including boxing, wrestling and table tennis.

Severfield was awarded the contract for the connection design, fabrication and erection of almost 8,000 tonnes of structural steelwork, totalling some 17,000 tonnes for the entire project. The use of our Seversafe off load system for the secure unloading of steel was used on site, this assisted us in maintaining a creditable health and safety performance.
