Employees and Training

Building the future together...

An important focal point of our CSR strategy is our highly-skilled workforce, without which we could not build a sustainable and promising future.

Successful communication, engagement, professional development and support hold the key to a happy, involved and effective staff. This includes:

  • Employees being regularly informed of matters concerning the performance and future developments of the company

  • The Board considering employees’ interests when making decisions and inviting suggestions from the workforce aimed at improving company performance

  • Our policy to provide equal opportunities to all existing and prospective employees

  • A commitment to the fair and equitable treatment of all our employees and specifically to prohibit discrimination on the grounds of disability, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, nationality or ethnic origin

  • Continuing with our established policy of employing disabled persons where practicable and endeavouring to ensure that they benefit from training and career opportunities in common with all employees

  • Offering high quality training schemes and opportunities through our established training department. This department is manned by experienced officers whose prime purpose is to work with new employees and to update them on the continuing changes in legislation and health and safety. The training provided can be given in-house or externally and ranges from forklift truck and pendant control crane and shunter driving, to International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) qualifications such as harness training and all categories of mobile elevating work platforms. We also support employees where possible in the undertaking of relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) and additional college or university courses.
