Severfield, the UK’s market leading structural steel company has recently raised £635.00 in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The monies have been donated following an initiative by Severfield to provide their workforce at the Dalton site with Severfield branded jackets. The option was then given for recipients of the jackets to make a donation to the YAA.
Commenting on the donation, Gary Wintersgill, Managing Director at Severfield (UK) Ltd said:
“We are delighted with the support and recognition from our workforce at Dalton. The amount raised clearly shows that they understand the fantastic work carried out by the YAA and that it provides a vital service to Yorkshire.”
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire.
In fact, as a Charity they only receive help via the secondment of paramedics from the NHS, through the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air they need to raise £9990 per day.
Helen Gowans, North Yorkshire Regional Fundraising Manager said, “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this cheque from Severfield, who are regular supporters of ours, particularly in view of the fact that the company is based very close to our Topcliffe base. We must fregularly fly over them on the way to incidents.”
