Following the impressive works at that took place at the Ordsall Chord project over the 2016 festive period, the 22 February arch lift was hugely anticipated.
With 18 months of prior planning, the 600-tonne lift saw the iconic arches being carefully installed over the River Irwell and inched into their final position. This section will provide a major part of the railway link between Piccadilly and Victoria stations and transforms the Greater Manchester skyline.
This successful lift and significant event was an especially proud moment for all of Severfield and the Northern Hub Alliance partners.
