Overview:
The redevelopment of Blackfriars Station Bridge was part of Network Rail’s Thameslink improvements programme which aims to provide more frequent and spacious trains.
This train station was the first to span the river Thames, and provides commuters with easier access to attractions such as the National Theatre and surrounding areas.
Severfield commenced work at the railway station back in August 2009. The Company provided the connection design, fabrication and construction of 4,955 tonnes of structural steelwork used in this project.
Prior to the steelwork being constructed, Severfield also helped with demolition and other temporary works.
