Overview:
The United Kingdom Centre for Medical Research & Innovation (UKCMRI) project is a new build in the centre of London.
This 57,000sqm (above ground) research laboratory is located adjacent to the Eurostar terminal, St Pancras.
Comprising four main blocks, arranged with a central atrium space, all captured under a large curved roof form, Severfield covered the connection design and fabrication of approximately 2,300 tonnes of structural steelwork.
The building's complex and geometrically challenging roof structure presented many unique scenarios that fully engaged all levels of our engineering and fabrication resources. In addition to the main steelwork, we supplied elements of metal decking, fire protection and the aesthetic painted finishes to the visible structural features.
