Overview:
The Thameslink Borough Viaduct is part of the Thameslink programme and is designed to preserve the surrounding heritage, such as the Victorian market.
The bridge runs alongside the existing railway bridge and doubles the amount of railway tracks heading west out of London Bridge station, providing a better train service with fewer delays for passengers.
Severfield were responsible for the fabrication of 1,630 tonnes of structural steelwork incorporated into the structure.
Severfield's in-house erection team was responsible for the erection of the steel for the bridge, which was launched over Borough High Street during the weekend of the Royal wedding of William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
