Overview:
This Co-operative headquarters building is one of the first in the UK to be built to the BREEAM (The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) 'Outstanding' designation and is one of the most sustainable commercial buildings in Europe to date.
Severfield was responsible for the connection design, fabrication and safe erection of the 3,100 tonnes of structural steelwork incorporated into this 15 storey building, of this steel 2,600 tonnes are coated in a 90 minute fire protection paint.
The company also supplied and fixed the metal decking, edge protection and pre-cast concrete throughout.
