Sophie joined Severfield in May 2022, after earning her degree in Geography at St. John’s University in York.

Sophie plays a vital role in supporting the business with ESG compliance and assurance, as well as managing sustainability reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

She coordinates initiatives to help the organization achieve Net Zero and meet our recently approved Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) targets, including researching electrification and alternative fuels. Keeping up with legislation and technological developments in the sustainability sector is essential to her role, enabling the company to not only comply with regulations but also drive innovation in its environmental practices.

As the most junior member of a the Sustainability Committee, she has grown into a role of trusted advisor, which was accompanied by her quick succession and promotion within the company.
