We are thrilled to announce that as a result of our annual environmental disclosure submitted to CDP in 2025, Severfield has been given an ‘A’ score for transparency on climate, securing our place on CDP’s A List for Climate for the third-year running.
Severfield’s place on the CDP’s ‘A List’ again this year demonstrates our thorough understanding of risks and opportunities related to climate change, and that we have formulated and implemented strategies to mitigate the effects of our operations on the environment. We have also maintained our B score for ‘Water’, reflecting a strong performance in managing this important resource.
Additionally, we are also proud to have received the EcoVadis Committed Badge, a further testament to our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices.
The ‘Committed Badge’ is awarded to companies that demonstrate “good” performance under the EcoVadis methodology, addressing key sustainability criteria, including environmental impact, labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that benchmarks performance across industries. Participating in EcoVadis demonstrates our commitment to drive positive impact within our own operations and wider value chain.
“Earning these recognitions is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and climate leadership. It reinforces our dedication to driving meaningful change and setting a high standard for corporate responsibility. We remain committed in our journey toward a more sustainable future for all that is ever evolving." Michaela Lindridge, Head of ESG at Severfield
What is CDP?
CDP is a global non-profit organisation that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system and holds the largest environmental database in the world.
Founded in 2000 and working with more than 740 financial institutions with over $136 trillion in assets, CDP pioneered using capital markets and corporate procurement to motivate companies to disclose their environmental impacts, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests.
CDP scores organisations from D to A, with A representing ‘Leadership’ in the field. In order to be awarded an ‘A’ for climate change by the CDP, and secure the associated ‘leadership’ status, organisations need to have shown that they are behaving like industry leaders when it comes to their practices. CDP holds the largest environmental database in the world, and CDP scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a zero carbon, sustainable and resilient economy.
