We provided approximately 4,500 tonnes of steelwork, including the construction of long-spanning mezzanine and roof trusses that span the full width of the building, providing large internal areas for future exhibitions.
We were also entrusted with supplying various components such as metal decking, cold rolled purlins, stairs, and intumescent paint on the project. Each of these elements played a crucial role in the overall functionality of the structure.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was ensuring that our work did not disrupt the ongoing operations of the existing ExCeL Phase 1 and 2 buildings. From the outset, we faced pressure to meet tight deadlines, particularly with the request to complete half of the main steelwork to provide a stable structure for the annual Formula E Event.
Despite the challenges posed by the project’s scale, we successfully completed the project scope within the required timeframes.
