Topping Out at 318 Oxford Street
Severfield celebrates the topping out of 318 Oxford Street, marking a major milestone in the transformation of the historic site into a modern, steel-reinforced landmark known as The Elephant
ProjectsSeverfield recently installed the final roof trusses on the north and south stands at Everton Stadium.
The 15th and final 100-tonne steel section was hoisted this week, completing a precision operation that began in mid-November 2022 and has resulted in two full-span trusses installed in the north stand and three in the south, raising the stadium to its full height of just under 45 metres.
Despite the magnitude and complexity of the steelwork used for this project, Severfield erected the final truss one month earlier than planned! This shows why we remain the UK leader in structural steel.
Senior Construction Manager, Stephen Osborne, says:
"This is a significant milestone for us. It was quite a complex process that took a lot of planning. Now that the roof is erected, it allows us to take all the temporary trestlesout and complete the stands. Over the next two months, we will see the north and south stands completed."
